I was Prof. of Drama/ ran the drama programme at UEA. I currently direct the only regularly-producing French-language theatre operation in the UK, Sacre Theatre (based at UEA), and work with social/political orientated theatre in India, as well as having strong connections with resistance and post-apartheid theatre in South Africa.
I've written on much of this, including on improvisation, absurd theatre, theatre and ecology. I would also be happy, if and when that might be of interest, to lead practical and/or reflective sessions or talk about/discuss any dimensions of this work, particularly in terms of what the development and practice of what the use of bodies and emotions in theatre may illuminate or offer in terms of our ability to operate in our current personal, affective, political and ecological contexts.
Initially some reading from two contrasting plays to explore how the dialogic function of drama operates and how it enables conversation; further sessions will respond to participants' suggestions re. the potentialities of what 'drama'; might mean or deliver.
